COVID week 6

Productivity Hello friend, how are you? I hope you and your family are safe and well. I am writing on week 6 of the coronavirus crisis, day 42 of sheltering in place. There were two holidays that happened this week: -Earth Day-a day intended for all to stop, give pause, and give thanks for all that the Earth provides us. It is also a time to think about how humanity has hurt the Earth, created global warming, and what we can do, as individuals and as a collective people sharing the planet, to counteract the damage and protect all of Earth's inhabitants. -Ramadan-a month long holiday in which Muslims fast to celebrate to give thanks to Allah (or God) for giving the first books of the Quran to the prophet Muhammad. Much like Jews who celebrated Passover and Christians who celebrated Easter, Muslims are celebrating Ramadan in a markedly different way this year. Ramadan Mubarak to all who celebrate! As for me, I had a very busy week. I took part in a video me

COVID week 5

I'm Still Here Hello there friend, how are you? I hope you are well. I am writing on week 5 of the coronavirus crisis, day 35 of sheltering in place.  The state of Indiana is currently on a “shelter in place order” which has been extended until May 1. At that point the governor will decide if we need another extension of this order, or if it might be time to loosen some restrictions in the state. Indiana now has over 10,000 COVID cases, with over 500 deaths. Experts say that the number of positive cases will undoubtedly rise as more people are tested. It is important to remember that about 85% of people that become infected with the virus survive. This week was crucial for Indiana in that it is expected that the virus will reach its peak. The governor of Indiana tightened the shelter in place order and advised against leaving the home, including venturing out to buy groceries.  As I found myself in need of groceries this week, I used a grocery delivery service. Creature Comforts Hello everyone, I hope you are well. I am writing on week 4 of the Corona crisis, day 27. This is Holy Week in the Christian faith. Today is Good Friday, the day that Christians mark as Christ’s crucifixion. Easter Sunday is this coming Sunday, the day that marks Christ’s resurrection and ascension to heaven. This is also Passover week in the Jewish faith, which celebrates their freedom from slavery and exodus from Egypt. Happy Passover and Happy Easter to everyone that celebrates. This is a time of great comfort to many in the Judeo-Christian faiths. It is unique this year, of course, as the majority of the United States is under self quarantine at home. Yet in this time of isolation, we are in greater need of comfort.  * I am concerned for the country and the world, and I ponder what our future will look like. At the same time, I am able to enjoy the creature comforts at home. I’ve been coloring in a coloring book, writing, eating great food, cuddling

Hello beautiful people. How are you? How are things? I truly hope you are home and doing well and are virus free. I am writing you on day 20 of being at home, week three of sheltering in place. Nothing has happened here, and that is a wonderful thing. I remain virus free, and I’m happy to report the same from all friends and family.  * On the work front, the my library was to open on this coming Monday. Since then, the library declared that it will remain closed until further notice. There has been a "shelter in place" order for my state for 10 days or so. Just today the Governor of Indiana has declared a state of emergency for the state, and has extended the "shelter in place" order two more weeks.  Personally, I am doing fine. I am still trying to think of all of this as a vacation away from work. But make no mistake,  I am worried and concerned about this global plague. While I am home I am writing, binge watching TV, coloring in a coloring book, an
