Dear Luna I Have News

Dear Luna I Have News-A Letter to the Moon

Dear Luna,
Hello my friend. How are you? How are things in your corner of the sky? I hope you’re doing well. I’m sorry I haven’t written in forever. I’ve been incredibly busy of late.

As you know, my mother passed away recently. As such, the year has been moving at hyper speed for me. Yet, other times, it feels like time has stood still, moving mere seconds instead of months. But, life goes on, no matter our grief. I’m taking things as they come, which is all any of us can do in these times.

I’ve been so busy this year, with sporadic bursts of writing and creativity. I think the last things I’ve posted were all written all on the same day! Here’s what I’ve been working on since then:

First, I’ve joined Substack, a new social media platform for writing and creative projects. I’m new to the platform, but you can find me there…

Second, I’m close to publishing my latest book! It’s called “The Notebook” and contains my writings from 2019. I hope to have it out soon. In the meantime, here’s the trailer for the book:

Third, I’ve decided on a bit of a name change for my blog. Well, no, I mean, for me. When I write, it’s usually in an informal tone. In one sense, I’m writing to the world, as it were. However, conversely, each piece I write- and post- is a personal connection and conversation with every reader. Just like this letter to you! I’m not addressing the planet, I’m just talking to you.

So, going forward, I’m going to refer to myself as Hope, or Esperanza. That’s my name, why complicate things? A rose by any other name, right?

I’ve added “Hope” as a nickname on my social media profiles, so people will know it’s me. I’ll still be Esperanza Habla on paper and in my publishing house, La Luna Press, L.L.C. But, in my writing, I’m Hope. So, not much of a name change; yet, a definite drop in formality. :)

Well my friend I’ll let you go.  I just wanted to reach out and see how you are, and to share my news. I’m so excited about my new book. I can’t wait to get it to you. Stay tuned!

Take care my friend. Peace and love,
       -Hope
