Lessons from the year 2015

This is the time of year to reflect on the year, a year in review if you will. I look back on the year 2015, and think about what I have learned in the course of the year that has been:

*When the New Year begins with a full moon with a halo around it, it will be a wonderful year.
*Breathing is something that many of us take for granted.

*Can someone be “overweight” and be healthy? Absolutely. I am living proof. Believe it.
*I am ready for the future. Come what may.

*Finding a picture of an old friend, a picture I did not know existed, was both lovely and bittersweet.

*Dreams do come true. Mine came true, at last.

*What happens next? I cannot wait to find out.

*Marriage equality finally came to the U.S. Love won.

*We are all neighbors. We must learn to live together on this planet. We must not let fear convert us into the worst version of ourselves. We must coexist.

*The murder of Matthew Shepard was a wake-up call in my life, for the country, for the world.

2015 was a magical year for me. For the first time in a long time, I am excited about the future. I know 2016 will bring the publishing of more books, more blog posts here, and more of the unknown. I welcome the future and all the experiences and blessings in the New Year to come.

I thank you for being here, for reading my words, my writing here, my letters to the moon.
I wish you time to reflect on the year that has been, time to count your blessings, and above all, peace and happiness.

Goodbye 2015. Welcome 2016.
